National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization, established in 1921 to recognize outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS membership at Lakeview High School is open to students having a cumulative career GPA of 3.5 or above.

Sophomores and juniors who meet this criterion will be notified of their academic eligibility after the 2nd trimester of a given school year.  Eligible students must submit the completed application and letters of recommendation to Dr. Lincoln. Candidates will be selected for NHS membership by an NHS Faculty Council and through evaluations supplied by Lakeview High School teaching staff. An induction ceremony is held annually in the spring. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Induction and the 2021 Induction were held virtually.
