The following accomplishments reflect the dedication and spirit of our students and staff, underscoring our commitment to fostering talents and preparing our students for future success.

Academic and Extracurricular Success:

  • Student Government received the Star School Award and Excellence in Service Project.
  • DECA celebrated 10 state champions and qualified 16 members for international competition.
  • 39 MITES projects placed in the Top 10, with six achieving 1st place.

Collegiate and Career Readiness:

  • Two students were accepted into Ivy League schools, and two were accepted into the Naval Academy.
  • 100% of seniors experienced a post-secondary education in their chosen career pathway.

Athletics Achievements:

  • Boys Basketball, Softball, and Baseball teams clinched District Championships.
  • Clinched 12 out of 17 All-City Championships.
  • 88 athletes recognized as All-Conference.
  • 42 athletes honored as Academic All-State.
  • 8 athletes earned All-State recognition.

Arts and Music Distinctions:

  • Marching Band placed 7th at the State Competition.
  • Two students won Optimist Art Awards and received scholarships to Kendall College of Art & Design.
  • All concert bands and choirs received the highest possible rating of 1 at the festival.

 

Top of the Class

Thirty-five members of the Lakeview High School Class of 2024 graduated with a grade point average of 4.0 and higher. Achieving this honor requires students to take a rigorous course load throughout their high school career. Their involvement in school and community and future plans further demonstrate their commitment to excellence.

Lakeview Students Earn Perfect Scores & Score College Credit on Advanced Placement Exams

Lakeview High School offers a robust Advanced Placement (AP) program with 16 courses ranging from computer science to psychology, helping students earn college credit during high school. In the 2022-23 school year, LHS students excelled in AP exams, with nine achieving perfect scores. AP tests, graded on a 1 to 5 scale, saw LHS students earning recognition as AP Scholars: 12 students scored 3 or higher on three or more exams. Additionally, two students were named AP Scholar with Honor, and four received the AP Scholar with Distinction for their outstanding performance across multiple AP exams.
